Another first review before anyone else. Before it was the 5800pir-od outdoor motion. Now, the 5870API. This asset protector is a small box that can be mounted either horizontally or vertically. The original idea for this was jewelry display cases in jewlery stores, but this product will take off for other reasons. I personally have one on my computer. Many people will put these on a flatscreen lcd tv. Basically , you can set this to sense vibration pretty much immediatly, or within a few steps if mounted vertically. If you mount this flat it will sense the lid being opened, much like a mercury sensor. Overall, a great item to have to individualy protect your valuables. Approximately a 2 inch square & about 1 inch deep. Comes in White or Grey, which is really closer to Black in color.
