Tumbleweed Springhurst Commons Dr.
I remember going to Tumbleweed for mexican food. I know, its not real mexican, but it tasted good.
I have not been in awhile, so when we saw one near the Summit shopping center in Louisville, I talked my wife into going.
We got our drinks & they provided the customary chips & salsa. All seemed normal.
My wife, being the dripper she is, dropped some salsa on her shirt.
So, she unfolded the napkin that contains the silverware. First thing that came up was one of the forks still had food stuck to it.
I am not sure how the diswasher could miss the sizeable spot unless he has a blinder on. We just sat it aside & continued to munch out on the chips.
A few minutes later someone at a table near us complained to the waiter that the water was cloudy.
I am not sure where they get the water from, but someone in the back started yelling out that they need to change the water.
First thing that came to my mind was that they used the same water they were washing the dishes with.
I shouldn't say that, but considering the chain of events, it did cross my mind.
Our food finally came, but I have to admit it was a little slow in coming as there was only a handfull of customers in the whole place.
My wife's taco salad looked huge & I immediately told the waiter we would be needing a go box.
Turned out the salad really wasn't that big, they had just built it up by curling the bowl more & filling the bottom up with more chips to make it look bigger.
My burrito, while it was what I used to order, didn't seem to have the same nice taste to it as I remember. The beans and rice were fewer & the rice was sort of a white-rice, not the mexican brown rice they used to serve.
Overall, the food was ok, but I just don't see them continuing on with the menu items they have. If the entire system of Tumbleweeds are the same way, then I understand the bankruptcy. Maybe they went to this selection after the bankruptcy. I am not sure, but it just isn't working either way.
From my experience at this one location I would give it a C+ with a D- for the dishwasher.
