Motorola MPX 200 Cell Phone / Smartphone Review
SECTION 1

Motorola MPX-200
This is my first pda type cell phone, sometimes called a handheld SMARTPHONE. The mpx200 is quite different from other cell phones. It combines a PDA with a color cell phone. The features include: * An integrated mobile phone, offering voice and data capabilities (phone, e-mail, SMS and instant messaging) * A connected mobile experience, that synchronizes the e-mail, contacts and calendar on your phone and with your desktop PC * Pocket versions of familiar software, including Outlook®, Internet Explorer and Windows® Media Player * Digital entertainment capabilities, including Windows Media Player and MSN Messenger, so you can enjoy music, watch video clips and chat with friends * Integrated SD/MMC memory card slot, allowing you to store games, music and information

The two main reasons I got this phone was I could download news & play mp3's via the SD card that can be inserted into the phone. The capabilities are great for such a small device. You can set the phone for "Outdoor Mode" & get an extremely loud ringtone. You can also make your own ringtones simplay by dumping a .wav file into the sounds directory in the phone. I only have two beefs with the phone so far. #1 the battery life sucks. Use if for a day & it needs recharged. Play mp3's & you need to recharge it in less than 2 hours. Since I was wanting to use this while at work, that really sucks. #2 I don't necessarily know if this is the phone's fault or the Motorola stereo headphone set, but the stereo sound is severely lacking bass. I would recommend another set of headphones for stereo listening, not motorola's. If you need a wired mic, just buy a single earpiece design.

Bottom line - great phone for those who want more than just a cool ringtone & a color screen. I hope the newer version, the mpx220, has better battery life.
