| SECTION 1 |
Mallard Crossing Apartments Location is great. The benefits of ducks walking around nearby is pleasing, but the creek itself the runs thru the units, while pleasing to look at, is a dumping spot for the nearby shopping center. They are fixing this supposibly, but I would not get your feet wet in the creek. The ceiling are a little thin. Heavy walkers are often heard & even heavy pets bouncing around. We were stuck with $300 pet deposit & told we can't have pets over 20 lbs. Drive by any day & you can spot roteweilers, dobermans, boxers, etc. I saw one woman walking 3 50 lbs dogs in front of the leasing office today alone. They are nice & maintenance is good until you move, then your in for it as they will find everything in the world to try and charge you for damage. This past winter after the ice storm the walkways & parking lot was never touched. I saw several people fall. Safety of the residents was absent for the entire week. No excuse. Whatever you do, do not rent a apartment near the ponds with shooting water fountains. While this looks nice, we have come to find out several tennants have had respiratory problems. The ducks basically crap in the ponds - and there are a lot of ducks - and this smell & residue shoots up into the air & ends up getting sucked into your central air system. I am not sure if any lawsuits have been filed on this yet or not, but it would not surprise me. We have moved from one apartment to another unit. Management seems to have lost our last month's deposit. We had paid our last month's rent, so deposit was due to us. We asked for an accounting of where the money went & have yet to get a reply. When they want money they place nice envelopes on your door, but when they owe you money they ignore you. We have had to obtain an attorney to possibly sue the management for our money back, which no doubt will cause friction between us & management for the rest of our lease term.
