The Kentucky Unemployment Office is full of incompetent idiots.

My wife was working for a temporary company for a little over 3 months. She was doing a good job during this trial period, so the people she was working for decided to hire her full time. Great benefits, good pay, etc. One month into working for them they decided to have some layoffs. You guessed it - she got laid off.

My wife filed for unemployment. 2 weeks later she gets this letter that the company was disputing the claim & said she quit the job. After investigating it turns out they did not know about her permanent position with the new company & was basing the claim off of the temp company. Now 3 weeks have gone by.

We got a letter telling us we could appeal by either faxing or sending a letter to the Frankfort Office. We did both. A few days later we get a letter it was under evaluation. Now a month has gone by and the bills are getting behind. My wife is looking for a job, but nothing yet.

We call & get told the request was being processed, but no check has been issued (no reson given). About 5 weeks have passed now. My wife goes downtown Louisville & does the claim all over again, as there seemed to be something wrong with the other one now. Took them over a month to tell us that. So, she gets that straightened out & waits. 6 Weeks have gone by now.

What the He!@!## is going on? We are now getting noticed on our door about our rent. Our electric bill is overdue, our cable bill is overdue, our car insurance is overdue, & my paycheck is going for everything else. She calls today & now they say they never got the appeal letters that were sent weeks ago, so she is denied again!
What is the matter with these people?
My wife will have to go back to the office again, in person, and prove the fax went thru, give them another copy of the letter, & try to get this straightened out once again. My wife and I just want to cry as we can't even get insurance we paid into and do not know who to turn to to get this straightened out. Nobody in this division of the government seems to know what they are doing. The bills are racking up & my wife is wanting to go back to school to help prevent this kind of thing ever happening again. But for now, we feel like we are on the Titannic with only a few more hours to live.
