Florida Hotel Reviews
Unbiased honest reviews by the common guest.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Disney World - Orlando, Florida
African theme prevails here. Drums, a campfire, and of course- animals. We stayed in a room facing one of the "savannah's"
where at least once a day, the feed the animals within view of your room. If your on the 2nd or 3rd floor this can be quite
entertaining. Higher floors can spot more animals ar various times but your not as close. Around $275 & up for a room. About the
only way to get from here to someplace else is by the bus.
Disney's Boardwalk Inn - Disney World - Orlando, Florida
Could not ask for a better location, particularly if your are going to Epcot or MGM Studios.
Ferry boats take you on a short trip to both places or you can walk. You can see Epcot's fireworks display from the lake.
Decent shopping can be found along the strip. Prices generally hover around the $200 mark for a room. If your main goal is Epcot
this is a fair price to be so close. The cons to your stay is that the elevator locations are probably the worst of the Disney hotels.
Expect to walk to your room & walk a decent distance at that. There always seems to be some renovation going on.
The rooms are pretty clean but the bird droppings on the balconies need to have more attentions paid to them for cleaning.
Serice at the desk is a little slow compared to other Disney resorts, but as always, Disney service is usually better than
what you would find at a regular hotel off of Disney property. Unless you get valet parking, you have a long walk to your car.
Thus the valets are busy & slow to bring you your car.
Disney's Grand Floridian - Disney World - Orlando, Florida
One of the most expensive hotels to stay at in Florida. Prices generally start at $300 and go up. Located directly
across the lake from Magic Kingdom this is the place to stay to have the best of everything. Restaurants are located
downstairs & the monorail pass by directed outside to take you to the area parks. You can also take a boat ride across the lake.
We could find nothing at fault with our stay other than the price. The staff is the best around & will make anything wrong, right. Fantastic hotel for
a honeymoon.
Disney's Polynesian - Disney World - Orlando, Florida
Mid-priced for a Disney property at around $250 and up. Good location & we got laid as soon as we entered to check in! With a Polynesian
theme the scenery was is good. Rooms were clean & over-all a good experience. Monorail is out front to take you to the parks.
Disney's Old Key West Resort - Disney World - Orlando, Florida
Somewhat on it's one, this resort is very clean for the most part and not quite as noisy as the other Disney Resorts.
Just around the corner from Downtown Disney you can drive, take the bus, or take a pontoon boat ride right to the back side
of Downtown Disney. Priced around $225 we find ourselves staying here more often than any other of the places on Disney property.
For some reason it seems the best deal for the dollar & we have never had a problem.
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort - Disney World - Orlando, Florida
Located closest to Downtown Disney, we stayed here when only a few buildings were open during construction. This used to be the Disney Intitute, which
was fairly priced for what you got. Saratoga Springs is overpriced for the value in our opinion.
Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort
Nice location right on the beach and less than a block from Pier 60. Rooms are generally $175-$225 a night. Covered parking.
Generally, your paying for location. The rooms are average size at best and the majority do not even face the beach.
The hotel sits at a 90 degree angle to the beach, thus providing views lengthwise down the beach, but not a direct frontal view of the Gulf.
For the money, the rooms should just be a little larger & have better views.
Sailport Resort - Tampa, Florida
Located only a few minutes from Tampa Airport, if you need to relax fast after getting off the plane & still want to see water, this
might be your place. When we stayed here it was $89 a night, which got us a decent view of Tampa Bay, nice furniture, and a kitchen.
You definitely don't have the boat traffic to watch, as you would on the beach, but it's nice anyway. Just about every room has a water view.
There is no beach, you have to drive up the road a quarter of a mile. The road you are on goes straight to Clearwater Beach. For the price we
were pleased. If you want a water view without the higher prices of Clearwater Beach, this might be the place for you. They may have raised their
prices at the time of this review, but if it is still under $129 its a decent deal. Big Con - Tampa traffic going to and from the beach.
South Beach Condos - Treasure Island, Florida
Located just South of Clearwater Beach, this location provides one of the widest sections of beachfront in
the area. There is a nice walkway that runs for a very long stretch of beachfront behind the properties.
Two bedroom units can be found for around $220-$270 a night. A kitchen is included with a washer and dryer for cleaning
your clothes & towels. The problem we found with this place is that since they have come under new management
they want to charge for everything & charge a radiculous price at that. They state that they provide a "generous" supply of towels.
This was far from the case in our stay with 1 towel per person average. If you stay more than one night your in trouble for a towel.
To get a fresh supply of towels they wanted $16. What? They did have a washer & dryer, but provided not one small box of detegent to
wash anything. They also wanted you to strip the beds upon leaving, or face a $89 cleaning fee. If your room is not clean & wish cleaning to
be done they wanted $69 to do that. Bottom line, this place has great potential for the money, but under current management, just stay away. It is the little
things that count and at this place the little things added up to "0".
