The War on Collectors and Credit Debt

Ever been through a bad time in your life and find out how quickly creditors can turn on you and kick you when your down? How the lack of understanding to your situation just amazes you? You are no longer a "preferred customer", you are a child that needs a lesson. You need to be harassed, have fees levied on you during this bad time in your life, and generally made to feel like the scum of the Earth because of your misfortune. Lets face it, your the one that got into debt, and for that the stupidity is yours and you know it. Layoffs, firings, downsizing, death in the family, medical emergencies, etc., however, are not something you exactly have in your control. Companies have been laying off employees at an alarming rate the past two years. Bankruptcy filings are at an all time high. To the credit card companies and their hitmen collection services, these things are also your fault and you deserve no remorse.

The purpose of this site is to inform you of your rights. If the above describes your situation then read on. Most people are honest and want to do the right thing, the last thing they want is the nightmare that will result. Enough is enough, and its time - time to fight back - time that justice is served and what goes around comes around. This site is dedicated to credit card companies and the collection services employed by them.

The Game

Wow, ever seen the stupid commercials on tv where everyone has their credit card out ready to pay for a meal and some poor sap actually tried to use cash, thus holding up the line? Doesn't matter that ll of these idiots have their card already out & the one person paying with cash doesn't and is talking on the phone. The point the card companies are tying to pass on is that it is quicker to use a credit card. Isn't that it? It is so much quicker to get into debt than it is to get out. The only smart person in the commercial is the one using the cash.

I've heard that in Europe, MB has a version of monopoly out that has done away with the cash, and has a credit card machine to use instead. Are you kidding me? Personally, I will never buy another one of their products again because of this.

Fast food places are making it easier to use credit cards for the little $5 meals you get. These meals add up you know.

This is a war people. A war that can cause this country to crumble if we don't stop falling to the onslaught of credit card company ads. These blood sucking leaches think you are so stupid, that you will fall for it. You know, most of you did.

The Collection Calls

Oh boy, here we go. Here is a list of some idiots that have such a reputation that there are websites full of complaints on them. If you have some verifiable numbers of harassing creditors, email me & we'll post them here. Please report these idiots using the FTC claim form, below, every chance you get. Another good spot is RipoffReport.com. Many use Auto-dialers to call you on the hour & hide their info on caller id. HBSC changes numbers quite often. Notice how the last 4 digits of the number are often the same, just re-arranged.

Capital One - 1-800-955-6600
GE Money Bank - 1-800-292-7508 or 800-292-5166
HBSC - 1-800-684-8249 or 1-800-395-2274 or 1-800-684-8429 or 877-801-2498
GC Services - 1-800-795-5909 (Comes up as "Out of Area" on your caller ID)

FBCS - 841 E. Hunting Park Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19124 800-220-2018 www. FBCS-INC.com
Creditor's Interchange - P.O. Box 1335 Buffalo, NY 14240-1335
Encore - P.O. Box 3330 Olathe, KS 66063-3330

The worst of the worst behind the scenes if you owe them money? - SEARS
They will allow Collection Agencies to trade collection attempts without informing them to stop, even when you request them to in writing.

Your Rights

The "Fair Debt Collections Act" can be found all over the internet. Know your rights. There are links at the top of this page to a website that has many good documents to use in your fight. I'm out to get even, and the more people that fight the abuse the better.
Now, some other things to do that can possibly pay dividends in the long run. Wether you seek consoildation in one form or another, or you end up filing bankruptcy, reply to the letter these idiots are sending you. They are to contact your representative, not you. This may be the company helping reduce your debt, or it may be your lawyer. When you reply to the creditor, send the letter certified. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! Yes, it is very expensive to do this, but it could be more expensive if you don't. Also, this provides you defense against future threats and could actually provide you with the ability to have the creditor fined for their continued harassment. It is your proof that you told them to STOP. If you have a lawyer you can have them do this, but in all honesty I would do it myself because lawyers are sometimes the most unorganized people on the planet & your just another case.

Not So Fast

Cover the bases. You can find your state's Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commision by using most search engines on the internet, or by the phone book. I will put a link to the FTC complaint form below. If you continue to get letters and phone calls these two sources are your first stop for complaints. At least it is worth the try & feels food to do something. Most creditors just ignore letters from your lawyer in all honesty. It's just a letter as far as they are concerned. All bark and no bite. This thinking is general among creditors because it is true most lawyers do not have the gonads to take on creditors and you can't afford to pay your lawyer to do it anyway if they did!
FTC Complaint Form

Game Over

Enough is enough, now its time to sting them a little! Remember those certified letters you sent? I hope you kept the confirmations. If your reading this on a computer you probably typed your reply using a word processor. If you were really smart you saved the letter for reference - just in case. When you saved it you also "electronically dated" the document on the day it was last edited and saved. Now you have the letter you sent, word for word, and you also have the confirmation that they got that letter and when. Now you will have to find a lawyer that deals in creditor abuse. This is not always easy to do & there are very few of them. They work on the fact that they get paid if you win & whatever you win isn't much. You will have to seek them in the larger cities of your particular state of residence. The general fines will be $500 to $1500 against the collector. This is really pathetic compared to what they get out of harassing people. The point here though is not in fining them for money, it is in getting them to leave you alone so you can get on with your life.
